Re: Embedding youtube videos?

Okay, I didn't know they made it difficult like that! Thanks for your efforts! And thanks for the update. Has been a pain for years! Just last week a new extension for phpBB came out and I was testing it elsewhere before I used it here. Should forever solve the problems! Right now Tumblr, Im...

Re: South Park loop road repairs in progress

Yep, PanamintValley.com won't let people post right now for whatever reason. At least the information is still there. Unfortunately, I can't even LOOK at some of the threads! Anyway, is there a Thanksgiving dinner at PSR this year? Starting around noon and running till 5 p.m. or so as usual? ...

Re: Embedding youtube videos?

YouTube and Vimeo are something that I am working on. Previously it has been done with custom BBCode, however, every time YouTube makes a little URL change, the code no longer works and has to be updated manually here abandoning the previously posted videos with no way to update them. I'm working on...

Kidde Recalls Fire Extinguishers with Plastic Handles

Check the fire extinguishers in your 4x4! I just pulled mine out of my jeep, and it was a recalled one.

One in Butte Valley, I believe. Don't know where the other may be... Notta in butte valley.. Butte Valley? I've ...

Shelters like that are spread out throughout CA and NV, almost all of them where situated in old mines. Most have been sealed up or destroyed by looters. As far as ventilation, that was a key factor in strategically locating a shelter and picking the right mine. Surveys were done on many mines and o...

Slightly off topic, but Noah has been able to get AT&T on the Panamint Valley road, in the vicinity of Minietta road. Reflection from Cerro Gordo, same thing PSR if running on. Been that way for years! Back when I had a Verizon flip phone, we were able to add the CG tower to it and I was able to ma...

Sorry for the long delay. At this time, the software running this form doesn't allow any sort of embedding. I hope to change that in the near future.

The park boundary doesn't follow the state boundary exactly along most of NV. It shoots in and out by a small margin - OR maybe the park boundary is straight and the state line moves back and forth. Anyway, grey is NPS, orange is BLM, margin of error is +/- a tad, but you can see that the park bound...

Hows the road Ft Churchill road from Ft. Churchill to Hwy 50? Which direction recommended? East to West? Rough! I drove a portion of it last weekend. Only drove the first 5 or so miles of dirt, and it hasn't seen a blade in a long time. Unfortunately, most of the land along the road (which follows ...

Re: Visitor Center lite

The new building is great but what goes on inside... The wifi at the VC is basically non-existent. Ask at the desk and they tell you to ask at the Natural History Association desk. You ask there and they tell you it's only on 10-2. When asked why, we're told "there are bandwidth issues." Hello? And...
