AFAIK the USGS discontinued their 'sink/tilt' experiments to determine the rate at which the valley floor was moving back in the early 60s, so who knows what the real 'lowest point' is now.

I wonder when the last official survey was?

If the challenge is 8mths away, that puts it in either August or Sept.
I'd recommend looking into filling the barrow with water (or beer), because it's going to be toasty that time of year.

Caveat on Aguereberry. Check the weather. If it's cold or has been cold and snowing, then icy conditions may exist in some of the canyon areas above Harrisburg where the sun doesn't reach the ground. Otherwise as noted.

I know two folks who tried to drive up that road. They had to turn around (not a fun thing to do) and come back down when the rd became impassable for jeep sized vehicles.
