Re: Echo Canyon

Looks rather tight in there, between the wall on one side and the drop on the driver's side. Nope I don't think I'm going to be driving down that any time soon :)

Re: Above Keane Wonder Mine

That's interesting to see. I assume that the "looking back" is over to the main Keane mines, right? Once many years ago after visiting the King Midas mine (next canyon to the SW we tried coming over the ridge to these mines. There's all sorts of trails and prospects in there, but in the end we could...

Re: March Trip

Oh, maybe you would love to see the graveyard pix, on re-read. Let me see if I can dig them up. I didn't take as many pix back then as I do now! OK, here we go. That's the RR grade in the background; no rails on this side of Ryan.

You're planning to walk the old RR grade over to that cemetary? I did that some years ago. It was rather scenic and an easy walk. Not much left of the cemetary, just a few weathered graves. I can probably dig up some pix if you'd like. No rails. Have you walked the narrow gauge tracks on the other s...

How about the lunar eclipse for the supermoon blue moon on the 31st? I think DV will see totality, but it's something like 3 am.

Re: Solstice Synchronicity 2010, 2016, 20194

We threw both of my parents' ashes to the sea at a favorite beach on Martha's Vineyard. To me, it's now "their" beach and I often think of them when I'm there. So I figure, it's really up to my kids to decide where they would like to remember me. But somehow, Death Valley would seem appropriate. And...

Re: Source for recent satellite images?

I could be mistaken, but I think the worldview site is MODIS data, and hence the same resolution, but in a form that I find slightly easier to handle, in terms of scrolling and zooming.
