Re: Pronghorn antelope sightings in/near DV

Don’t have an answer. But my first thought is that if they once before in a land a long time ago coexisted, they should be able to do it again.

Re: Keystone Mine (Goler Canyon)

That 480 gallons a day seems like a lot of water to me. I will make it a point to visit the area when in the vicinity moving forward just to satisfy my curiosity on that.

Re: Sacatar Trail Wilderness

Yes, the cabin has become just a site today. I want to say the first abuse started in the early ‘80s and it just kept getting worse. Like in DV there was a sign in log with all kinds of pictures that Uncle Fester himself took. I usually access off Hwy 178 and Chimney Peak rd there in Canebreak. That...

Re: Sacatar Trail Wilderness

The snakes would be around the Domeland region, Rock Basin area and there around the Jackie Coogan Cabin. One about the Horny Toads is it is a lot harder to catch them now then when we were kids. They are not fast, that's a plus, but when you were a kid you did not think twice about sticking your ha...

Re: Sacatar Trail Wilderness

Not exactly Sacatar area but close enough to Kennedy Meadows is Long Valley. I use that area to hike down to the South Fork Kern to fish a lot. I see more Bears and Rattlers there than anywhere else. A lot of Horny Toads also. You always remember Horny Toads. Pot Farms also. The complete Kern Platea...

Re: Titus Canyon Lightning Vortex

I think it was winter 1981 as I drove out the bottom of Titus Canyon and the valley floor view opened up. Coming in from the north a hail storm was dropping hail in such a way you could actually see a dividing line of white moving across the valley floor. Now that was memorable but the cold that nig...

\And so weird to hear changes are coming to Ballarat! I regret never having visited Ballarat now that it's changing. I won't have the luxury of context that history provides by the time I finally visit this iconic place. Thanks for the news and the updates. DVD is see most of your post revolve arou...

Re: Man Rescued From Mine

On Saturday, March 21, four agencies teamed up to rescue a 60-year-old Santee man who fell down a mineshaft in Death Valley early Friday, suffering severe head injuries, San Bernardino authorities said. It was not clear how far the man fell. https://www.sierrawave.net/man-rescued-in-death-valley-fro...

Re: Death Valley Jim - current status?

If the Times does any research they should have crossed this site. Maybe even ask a few questions. Research and verification is something the Times has been lacking the last few decades.
