Telescope Pk

Am considering spending the night on top of Telescope Pk middle of this week and was wondering if there is any snow left I could use for melting for water. Have sent the night on top three other times and think it is time for another .

then moistened a second cloth with alcohol -- no, not bourbon, rubbing alcohol --
There in lies the problem. If you were to use bourbon, then you could lick them clean. And if they were not to be clean, you wouldn't care the next time they got used.

I have spent the night on top of Telescope 3 times (twice on the actual summit and once just a few hundred feet below the top). Of all the times up there, I only took the "road" back down to Mahogany Flats once. Remember it being long and boring, and am not sure it is shorter than the trail as one o...

What was it?

Spent this last Sunday night(3-12) up at OCabin. After the sun went down, the friend I was there with and I hiked up to the top of the ridge above the cabin to get a view down into Panamint Valley and to enjoy the full moon rise. We watched as cars were going up and down off Towne Pass. We saw what ...

Dave, tried looking up your son Saturday morning at PSR, but as luck would have it, it was his day off. We did not end up going down Lippencot due to being by ourselves (solo vehicle), and thought I would wait until I could do it with another vehicle along. Had a great time and spent Sunday night at...

Went through on the Hunter Mountain road weekend of April 2-4 and you could have gotten a street car up it. Went from PSR to HMR to Hidden Valley and down through Tea Kettle Junction to spend Saturday night at HomeSteak. The few areas on top of Hunter Mountain that were rutted had drive arounds that...

Panamint City

Thinking of the chance of going up to PC next weekend (4/2-4) and was wondering about conditions for the hike up. Mostly wondering where is the last water before you reach PC? Don't want to carry anymore than I have too. How is the stream in the lower part of the canyon? Thanks for any info, Bill
