Re: Marble-Cottonwood (side slot) lollipop loop Nov 17-19,2019

Your photos are fantastic! Sounds like a really nice hike! I do have 2 questions for you. 1. In the main Marble side canyon, were there many narrows after the dry fall? That dry fall looked relatively easy to go up when I was there but it was hot and I was low on water so I turned around. I believe ...

Re: Jets at Star Wars canyon

Hi Bob. I dont know about the fighters in Star Wars Canyon. Is that the canyon at Father Crowley Overlook? I believe it is. There is another thread about the recent crash there that has more information. Everyone is going to have a different top 5 places to visit there. I would say the "guidebook" a...

Re: Badwater to Dantes Peak and back March 26th

Wow, that is amazing that you did that, very impressive. Love the footage and pics too... some great color in the cliffs out there.

You should talk to Steve Hall and get one of the t-shirts that he was wearing in his trip report of the descent. :)

Re: March 2019 trip

Those are fantastic photos! You balanced the dynamic range in the Fall Canyon shots beautifully. It's one of my favorite canyons too. Thank you! One of the first things I did with those Fall Canyon photos was dropping the highlights and increasing the shadows in Lightroom. I think that helps a lot ...

Re: March 2019 trip

Unfortunately I didn't get to revisit that loop. We only had time for one last hike due to time constraints and ended up doing Kaleidoscope Canyon instead, as it was new to me. In the end I was definitely okay with that decision as the trailhead lot for Willow/Sidewinder was filled with vehicles an...

Let me echo everyone else saying how nice your photos are, Lost Roadie.

Looks like you had a lot of fun Tacoland. :)

Re: March 2019 trip

Thanks all! It was quite a fun trip. @Tacoland - I am sure you have some great photos as well. I remember you talking about the Willow Creek - Sidewinder loop, did you do that one? That was on my list but I ended up not having the time for it because I wanted to check out these places with the water...

March 2019 trip

Hey all! I got back 2 weeks ago from another awesome visit out to Death Valley. My original plan was to try to hike some canyons but changed that up a bit when the floods happened so I could try and see some of the flooded areas. I spent basically an entire week there with a few days sprinkled in ha...

Re: trip in March

I'll make sure to get the gps info from Google Earth for the crossover from Willow Creek to Sidewinder. If I see anyone making that crossing while I am, I'll assume its you Tacoland. I will also assume based on your name that you will have tacos with you. :)

Re: trip in March

Thanks for the info guys. I had not considered approaching upper Darwin Falls from the top. Is that road 4wd to get to China Garden? Is that a safer / easier route to get to the upper falls? I am somewhat chicken too when it comes to exposure as well and tend to play it pretty safe. My 8yo self woul...

trip in March

Hi! I am planning my trip out to DV this winter in a few weeks.. and I was hoping to get some information. Thx in advance. :) 1. I am going with a buddy this time and one of my main goals is to do the Fall Canyon first dry fall bypass and see the impressive narrows above it. The different reports I ...

Re: May 2018 trip

Thanks Sunman and bbb.

Yea I doubt everyone that visited the cabin signed the book. Maybe not a lot of people turn off there but the road through Hunter Mountain probably gets plenty of traffic. There were some pretty funny entries in there.

Re: Help

In most browsers when you right click an image, there should be an option like "copy image address". Make that selection and then you can paste that address between the [img] tags.

Re: May 2018 trip

Thanks! But now I am really kicking myself. I drove down that road one time, but didn't see the cabin. It was probably behind some trees. As you get to the end of this road there is a gate that you have to open (and close behind you) and just beyond that gate is the cabin. Theres a little parking /...
