Darwin wins in the end. I have no sympathy for those who screwup their life with bad choices. Mothers using Meth to assist with child rearing? if that is not one of the most insane things I have ever read. "I get all my work done, and drive the children to all their activities, and I have the black ...

Dang, I was all for Ron Paul till you said the Surprise Canyon road might be opened by him. I sure as heck don't want to see it re opened. I have no problem with a road punched in from Pleasant, or nailed to the side of the hill a thousand feet up. But surely not in the crick bottom. Somebody ought ...

back to the tent issue. In my experience, the stand up tents, particularly the inexpensive ones have fiber wands. I have had two tents wrecked by Death Valley spring winds. The fiber wands will flex and when the flex too much they shatter. Since your comfort and possibly your and your families life ...

Sierra Designs tents, they go up really fast and stay up in high winds, do not get a tent with fiber wands, wind will shatter the fiber. Get a couple of Coleman extreme coolers, much more efficient than the cheapos. rei.com is your best source for good gear at a good price. Anything you buy there wi...

Santa Barbara County proved impossible to work with, we couldn't get a conditional use permit. The Betteravia land will continue to be farmed. Our place on Huasna is still within the city limits, not out in Huasna, we will be on a 30 acre farm east of the Middle School you have probably seen the veg...

I find when I wear my tinfoil hat, orange lights appear in the sky above my head, very disconcerting. Kelly, I had not seen a post of yours here for some time. Our plans have solidified, we are moving onto farm I grew up on in Arroyo Grande, out on Huasna Road. Right now I am spending a week in Truc...

I'll be driving an 06 Ranger 2X4 with what we call "all-season radial" tires (ok for mud and snow) 15" tires. Roughly a 7-8" clearance. >>>> you will be able to go just about anywhere aside from true 4x4 tracks. I saw a quick 3 min.) clip of someone driving through Titus Canyon, and it looked pretty...

I plan to hike one of these days from Mahagony (sp) camp south to Rodgers Pass. Years ago I established what I believe to be the North American mountain bike descent record. Top of Wildrose Peak down to the Death Valley Flats, great ride, burro trails, ancient mining roads, an undisturbed but abando...

The radar track showed a plane "noodling along" Southeast of Hawthorne. My paranoid conspiracy side of my brain has him "noodling" onto the test range, getting shot down and the government is not saying a word.
