Salt Creek Conclusion - Pupfish, Artifacts & Crunchies

Post by Death Valley Dazed » Wed Apr 12, 2017 7:44 pm

Most of us in this forum know that Salt Creek varies on its annual flow rates and connections to lower Death Valley. Curious, I took a late March 2017 and most enjoyable early morning stroll to its conclusion and well beyond.

Downstream on the south side and back upstream to the parking area on the north side. Those pupfishes are so feisty and cute! Of course, they don't go all the way to the stagnate end of the creek. The second tune in the soundtrack is actually titled: "Salt Creek", thus it's selection. Those dudes can really pick their guitars!

The sun rays flooding from the morning clouds don't show up in the video the same way they appeared to my eyes. Maybe some of you can speculate about the origin and reason the artifacts are there. The obligatory party balloon needs no explanation. Seems I collect one of those damn things on every walk about off the beaten path. There must be tens of thousands of the deflated toys around the park.

I could see it, and I thought it was pretty nice, thanks. I've walked around the Salt Creek area a lot, but never gone down there.

It works now. I like seeing the pupfish underwater.
