Ashford Canyon & Mine guarded by baby rattler

Post by Death Valley Dazed » Fri Mar 02, 2018 5:25 pm

February 2018 exploration of Ashford Canyon and mining works as guarded over by a baby rattlesnake, so cute I fell in love with this little forked-tongue creature. Warm afternoon light reveals details of the wood and machinery on site. I fell in love with the cutest baby rattlesnake.

Nice video! Laura and I saw that little snake's cousin, or perhaps aunt or uncle, last year on the access road to the mine. He or she was quite concerned to avoid us, but the road is narrow... we herded the snake down until it found a suitable bush to hide in.

You're bolder than I, man, to go down that mine tunnel. I'm OK with natural caves, within reason, but not so much artificial shafts.
