Thanks DVDazed. Here are the Day 3 morning pics, from where I camped at about 7400 ft to the summit, where I arrived just after 11:30AM. They weather was absolutely perfect!

I especially like this panorama from the false summit....you get the summit, the other false summit, Badwater, Furnace Creek, Mt Charleston, the south end of the valley, and even a small glimpse bit north of Stovepipe Wells.

How cool was that to score such a "picture perfect day" with the sky so clear. Those images are so sharp and clean. That pano is fantastic and I liked the squirrel shot also. Those bristlecones are awe-inspiring trees. To me, Telescope is like a sacred shrine worthy of the work it takes to arrive and then to marvel at the majesty that surrounds.

Thanks for sharing your personal saga!

Thanks, D.A. Here are more from the top.

I got a pretty good zoom down to the Badwater parking lot, though I can't quite make out my car, which was about 3 or 4 spaces left of the bathroom.

Your peak photos show plainly why the peak was named Telescope!

Yes, one of the best-named mountains there is! One of the worst is Mount Fairweather, Alaska :)

Day 3 afternoon pics, from the peak down to 7400ft:

I love the contrast between the forest and the valley in this shot:

Day 4, PM....didn't take many pics as I already have a lot from this area and mostly wanted to make good time getting down close to the end of where I was allowed to camp, which I did about 1.3 miles from West Side Road:

The final stretch...the 1/2 day lost to the storm on day 1 meant this went into a 5th day, which was just as well, since the highs were over 100 degrees. I was finished before 10AM.

The terrain across the valley was as varied as I've seen it.

This is your Best Friend when crossing the valley, unless you just love hiking across Devil's Golf Course:

Well Brian, just one thing to say about your adventure to Telescope from DW and back again, "Well done!" You've created some sweet memories to cherish from now on out for sure. Thanks for sharing and documenting with those lovely images.

Thanks, guys. I have never been able to get anyone to go with me these kinds of trips (though my wife will do short hikes with me), so it is great to have people to share it with who love the park like I do.

Now that I have done the heavyweight version, I'd like to do the day-hike version from Shorty's Well at some point...I'd probably start at 12:01AM just to be sure I'd have enough time to make it to Mahogany Flat :) Maybe I can find someone to do that with me.

I finally took the time to look at the rest of the pix. I've never gone all the way across the valley so those were interesting too. You really had some beautiful weather, and snow conditions looked pretty good on the summit. This was quite a trek! Really an impressive amount of climbing. Nearest I've done was to go from Mahogany Flat to Panamint City and out via the former Chris Wicht Camp (before it burned). But I was in better shape then, well, at least younger.
