WAY OFF SUBJECT

Post by uncleBarry » Sun Jul 15, 2007 5:10 pm

When I login to this site to read the posts which are most interesting.

David did a great service in his posts of the fire.

That is not really my subject, which is really a question. I tend to look at the PROFILE of the newest registered user. By far most of the time they do not list anything under Location, Website, Occupation, or Interests.

Why is this? They must be located somewhere, may not have a Website, hopefully are employed or retired and have some sort of interests. Is there a privacy problem? Is there a status thing to belong to a lot of websites?

This is in no way meant to put anyone down, just curious.

Barry

P. S. I know it is a slow day.

Hey Barry,

In an effort to help deter spammers, new members are not allowed to insert any of the information you mentioned above at the time of registration. Once a member has activated their account via an email that is sent to them to confirm a correct email address, they can then log in and complete their profile. Often times, sadly, lurkers don't take the time to return to edit their profile and add their personal information. You can't win them all I guess.

Dezdan: Thanks.

Now I know. That is good planning.
