Ha, I think your definition of hot might differ slightly from mine. Nice shot, it's definitely dry up there. Thanks for the info!

Ah that's a nice pic, Blackturtle. I love the evening light on the Panamints from that side of them. Speaking of which I guess the PV road is still closed? Morning Report says so, anyway.

Also it is still saying that the road to Mahogany Flats is closed at the Kilns. Don't know whether that reflects ice on the roadway, closed gate, or what.
It can be walked of course but it adds a bit to a hike of Telescope.

PV will probably still be closed for a while yet, unfortunately.

thepeakseeker, how'd it go on Telescope Peak? I'm planning a trip up there mid/late April. A trip report is appreciated. THanks.[/quote]

DVLion - A friend and I attempted the Shorty's Well to Telescope route in late Jan / early Feb. What a route! We didn't make it to the summit of Telescope but it was a good time. Everything was pretty bare of snow when we got there, but it snowed about 2 or 3 inches our last night there (Feb 1).

Here's the TR:

It snowed on Telescope Wed 2/26 down to 10,000, but snowed again last night 2/28 and more coming - expected to be down to 6000 ft. or so - and lots of it. Nice rains in the desert too - so this should encourage flowers!
