Trail Canyon, Middle Fork

Post by Morrie » Tue Sep 29, 2015 5:28 pm

The well-preserved cabin in the south fork of Trail Canyon, on the way to Morning Glory Mine, is apparently called Rake Cabin, according to the log. Does this cabin a little bit up the middle fork of the canyon have a name (pardon the tent)?

Its part of the Ronald "A" Mine. You can't drive there anymore

If you walk about a mile further up that canyon, you get to an actual mine and equipment. Is this also part of the Ronald "A" mine?

Yes. The cabin at the end of that road is part of the Broken Pick mill site. The equipment and the other cabin up the same fork is the Ronald A mine.

I turned around a few minutes further up from where those pictures were taken, so I didn't get to see a cabin at the end of the road. How much farther up is the end?

However, I encountered on of the largest junkyards I've seen in DV. It actually included a kitchen sink!

Whoops! A few things.

When I said that the cabin a ways up the Middle Fork was Part of the Broken Pick Millsite. the Ronald A Mine is about a mile up the canyon from the Broken Pick. Aside from the junkyard, there appears to be little else. There WAS a cabin in historical photos, but it appears they have not survived. So I was an error, and rereading Michael DiGonett has corrected me.
