"The owner said, Bring All Offers! Once in a lifetime opportunity to own BONNIE CLAIRE GOLD MILL TAILING ruins, 20 Acres. A leaching test has shown GOLD, Silver, and Platinum. There is a well at a site, and it goes down 100 feet and gets 100 gallons of water per minute. Rare earth metals are also in the tailings. The test has shown 1 oz of platinum & Gold per ton. Looks like it has been on the market for almost a year.

Camped overnight on my honeymoon to my first wife in 1976 at the mill building. Woke up in the morning sick as a dog. Somehow made it to the campground on the north side of Big Pine when I exploded and filled up the crapper. Bad memories. Buying it would jinx me ... :dezdan:

 Her? Nah. Six years later she and her boyfriend went to Saline Valley and got into a gunfight and I had to be the unlucky idiot who dispatched the Inyo County Sheriff to go get them ...

If you buy this, you can buy Hardluck Castle and have a home nearby! :D

That would be a great 9 mile commute. Close enough to go home for coffee and lunch while one is working their new mine.

I thought that the listing of the property might have something to do with the latest lithium speculation. I found this in a April 18, 2019 USGS report...

"Bonnie Claire appears to be a new type of deposit that has lithium compounds like lithium carbonate and lithium salts deposited within the fine grain clay, silt, and pore space. Although most of the sediment hosted lithium in the literature occurs in clays, it does not at Bonnie Claire...the lithium must be occurring as carbonate or a chloride with no association to clay minerals."

Not to worry. They are busy at the moment. Fifty FOIAs and 175 lawsuits in just the last three years...

CBD? What is that all about?

Someone pointed out to me that lead contamination and the cleanup thereof may be a rather large issue at Bonnie Clare. Perhaps it depends on what you want to do with the place?

The CBD has actions on an endangered plant at the Australian Ioneer Rhyolite Ridge lithium development west of Silver Peak, Nevada...

Ah, okay. When I see "CBD" these days I think of marijuana... couldn't see the connection in this case though, LOL.

BTW, in Australia, CBD means Central Business District. ;-)

HA! That's funny and you are the second person this week that said the same thing about connecting the CBD with marijuana and not the Center for Biological Diversity.

Most old desert explorers remember the CBD for their involvement in Surprise Canyon 20 years ago...
