The next time I'm walking on and wandering over the mineral-infused surface of Death Valley National Park I'll keep the temperature of my "gold fever" down by keeping this image in my mind's eye. No wonder things did not "pan out" for most of those vintage prospectors.
Another perspective is that for every billion visitors to Death Valley four of them would be worth their weight in gold.
