Indian Tacos - Mesquite Tree Distress

I was unaware that Death Valley mesquite is under stress from invasive species and lack of water. I learned about the issue while eating my first ever Indian Taco at the Timbisha Shoshone Tribal Cafe and noticed a poster on the subject on the wall. The Mesquite Traditional Use Pilot Project is attempting to solve this problem. For more information and background: http://mojavedesert.net/timbisha-shoshone/

Here is a short 1:30 duration video capturing my experience inside and outside of the Tribal HQ this June and at earlier times.

So how was the taco?

Don’t know if you’ve seen it, but their is a 360 rotating webcam on top of that building. It is found at:

Pretty good and was the first time I ever ordered one at this location. Thanks for the link to the webcam which I will check out periodically.

Here's this morning's sunrise hitting the Panamints from the tribal webcam:

What exactly is in an Indian Taco?

I've driven past that "Indian Tacos" sign so many times. But it never seemed to be at mealtime, LOL. Later in the year, I'll just have to put it on my agenda and stop in.
