I finally finished writing up 10 trip reports from our December 2016 Death Valley trip. (I've been busy with grad school, so it took me a while to complete these.)

The reports are located at:

http://kaurijacobphotography.yolasite.com/vacation-trip-reports.php

under the heading "December 2016 Trip Reports". (Scroll down past the June/July list of trip reports, which haven't yet been completed.)

Locations are:

1. Funeral Slot Canyon Area (Funeral Mountains)
2. Upper Narrows of the canyon just north of Echo Canyon (Funeral Mountains)
3. Lower "More Slots" Canyon, and the small drainage just south of Funeral Slot Canyon (Funeral Mountains)
4. "More Slots" Canyon again, and another small drainage between this canyon and Funeral Slot Canyon (Funeral Mountains)
5. Hole-in-the-Wall road area (windy day short hike) (Funeral Mountains)
6. Canyons 1 and 2 (Cottonwood Mountains)
7. Tramway Canyon (Black Mountains)
8. Near Backthrust Canyon (Grapevine Mountains)
9. More hiking in the Kit Fox Hills area (Grapevine Mountains)
10. Ridges North of Hellfire Canyon, and view into a northern side canyon of Hellfire Canyon (Black Mountains)

I always know I can look forward to some great stuff when I see your TRs, Kauri. Looking forward to reading these! You're so full of ideas and seem dedicated to exploring every nook and cranny in the area!

Kauri, I appreciate your detailed trip reports which invigorate me to keep on exploring the park. Your attention to detail is excellent.

I am wondering if this is a fault line or just lucky shadows playing tricks with my mind. I love spotting fault lines when out and about in the park. Here's the screenshot.

My favorite of this batch of trip reports by you is the Tramway Canyon. I love the old mining debris getting washed down the canyons and fans.

I have not seen a live tarantula yet either and finally just scored seeing my first sidewinder in September.

Keep on tripping!

These are great interesting TRs! Thanks for posting them!

The last photo on page 3 of Tramway part 2 seems to be incorrect, I think you meant to put a different one in there? It's a repeat of some strange equipment you'd found further downstream.

Thanks, Mojave! Exploring every nook and cranny is my goal in some areas of DV Smile

The wrong photo being inserted in the PDF is a recurring issue I've been having, which seems to be a bug with the Mac app Pages that I use to write the reports; I haven't yet found a workaround other than just using a different app, which unfortunately would take a lot longer. I'll see if I can fix it in this case (frequently, trying to fix it will just mess up a different photo).

@DVDazed: I'm not sure about the fault line, but that's certainly a very interesting possibility, and something I haven't thought much about when hiking in DV, so thanks for mentioning it!
