Some more scans from my old 35mm prints... Pics of the old Last Chance Cabin, taken February 8, 2003. I don't remember when, but some time after that, it burned down.

Nice to see those. I was backpacking up there with my daughter in the late 90s. We hiked in to the spring, expecting to set up a camp and day hike Last Chance Peak the next day. We were especially pleased to find the cabin when it started to rain. We enjoyed being dry in the cabin with light from a kerosene lantern and even lit a fire for a bit. The rain beat on the roof, but in the middle of the night it stopped, so I expected a sunny morning for our climb the next day. Well it went silent because it had turned to snow, and with six inches on the ground down there, we were not interested in heading up to the peak. We went down and spent a few nice days in the Eureka Valley instead.
