Canyon hike

Post by Dave Wise » Sun Jul 08, 2018 5:54 pm

I am going to be very vague about this canyon for obvious reasons. It has been mentioned a few times so those who have been there will know of it. It is in the southern area of the park, it has easy access from the hwy, there was some mining activity. It turns into a neat twisty canyon , until one comes to a ten foot dry fall. The diggings are not to far upstream from the fall. I am thinking that four people each carrying a three foot section of light weight ladder which could be assembled at the bottom of the fall could easily do this in a day hike. Has anyone done this or found another way in?

Hi,

What do you mean by "diggings"?

Where they actually mined the ore. I have heard that word used in that context.
