Death Valley Ravens

Post by Aedwards27 » Mon Jun 10, 2019 12:17 pm

I find this so interesting-

I have had ravens accompany me on hikes in the same area twice, three years apart. They are much less insistent than coyotes.

They seem to really love the sleeping circles too :).

At our camp on Lemoigne, we have had the same pair of ravens visit us the entire time we've stayed there (a week at a time) both with and without young ravens. They've even followed us to SPW and Emigrant!

Thanks for the pix and I really enjoy watching these intelligent and energetic birds in the park.

I've come across many of these "sleeping circles" and wondered what they were. Some of the larger ones with big boulders are thought to be hunting blinds. I wonder if they also serve as windbreaks? The bighorn sheep seem to create smaller sleeping spots with the larger pebbles and stones cleared away.

Gower- This one followed me and brought me a twig as a gift, I guess!

DVD-The sleeping circles in this area are of the human type, however, I have seen the bighorn variety! I have better shots of them, but they give away the location. Send me a PM if you would like to see more of the layout.
